High School Athletic Achievements: He earned 10 varsity letters: 4 in tennis, 3 in basketball and 3 in soccer. He was the first Mukwonago player to qualify for the State tennis tournament in singles 4 consecutive years from 1993-1996. His highest ranking was 8 at the state tennis tournament and was a member of soccer team that qualified for the State soccer tournament his junior and senior years in Madison. He was also a member of the 1996 boys' basketball team that was ranked in state all year and finished runner-up at the Boys state basketball tournament. As well as two- time all-conference selection in basketball junior and senior year. Conference Co-player of the year his senior year and elected to the All Area team.He had honorable mention all-state and team captain senior year in basketball and represented Southeastern Wisconsin in the State All Star game in Madison, WI. He was also the first Mukwonago student athlete to receive a division one scholarship to play basketball in college

Since High School BJ attended UW-Green Bay where he received his B.S. in Business with emphasis in Marketing and Finance (1996-2000) Played and started 4 years of basketball at UW –Green Bay
Honorable mention his sophomore and 2nd team all-conference selection his junior and senior year. He was team captain junior and senior years. He was selected 8 times to the all-tournament team during his college career. He completed his college career being UW-Green's all-time highest free throw percentage leader at 84.1%. He finished his career being in the top 10 in school history in 10 different statistical categories. He qualified for the Portsmouth Invitational in Virginia, which is a pre-NBA draft for the top 64 seniors in the country. BJ now resides in the Milwaukee area and is a commercial lender for Westbury Bank.

BJ contributes his success during high school to his parents, Ron and Mary LaRue; his sister Micki Endres; aunts and uncles for the many years of support, and guidance. In addition all his high school teachers and coaches- in particular Jay Christiansen, Jim Essman, Jim Haasser, Scott Pratt, Mark Lambrecht and Darrel Cottrell. A special thank you to all his teammates during high school especially the members of the 1996 Boys basketball team for a tremendous season and for the memories that will last a life time.
